What We Are

The Military Order of the Devil Dog Fleas (MODDF) is the fun and fellowship organization of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary, bringing together eligible Auxiliary members who share a commitment to service, friendship, tradition, and a healthy dose of Flea-style fun.

Our organization has its own colorful traditions, ceremonies, titles, and language, all designed to build camaraderie while supporting the greater mission of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary and the Marine Corps League family.

MODDF members are known as Fleas, Crawlers and Eggs, and beneath the playful names and traditions is a serious commitment to service. Fleas support veterans, Marines, their families, Auxiliary programs, charitable causes, and the communities in which we live and serve.

The MODDF also provides opportunities for members from across the country to form lasting friendships, develop leadership skills, participate in service projects, and enjoy the fellowship that comes from working together toward a common purpose.

Fellowship With a Purpose

Being a Flea is about more than ceremonies, titles, and laughter. It is about belonging to a sisterhood built around service, loyalty, friendship, and shared tradition.

We believe service can be meaningful without losing its joy. Our traditions give the MODDF its personality, but our members give it its heart.

Whether gathering for a Scratch, supporting an Auxiliary project, helping veterans and their families, or simply welcoming a new Flea into the fold, we strive to strengthen the bonds that unite the Marine Corps League family.

We serve. We support. We laugh. We remember. And together, we keep the Flea tradition hopping.

Our Mission

The mission of the Military Order of the Devil Dog Fleas (MODDF) is to promote fellowship, service, and good humor among members of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary while supporting the ideals, traditions, and charitable purposes of the Marine Corps League family.

Through camaraderie, volunteerism, and our own unique traditions, the Fleas strengthen the bonds of friendship within the Auxiliary, support Marines, veterans, their families, and our communities, and carry forward a spirit of service with enthusiasm, loyalty, and fun.

We honor the traditions of those who came before us while encouraging future generations of Fleas to serve, participate, lead, and keep the spirit of the Order alive.

Madam Big Flea

Welcome to the Military Order of the Devil Dog Fleas where followship, service, tradition and fun come together in the spirit of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary. Explore our traditions, learn about our organization, and discover how Fleas turn friendship and service into a sisterhood with purpose.
The Military Order of the Devil Dog Fleas is the official auxiliary organization associated with The Military Order of the Devil Dogs. The fun and honor society of the Marine Corps League. We support our Veterans, Marines and community service programs. Our Unit and Department Hides hold a Scratch several times a year, have fund raisers, donate to charitable organizations and welcome new fleas into our hides.
My theme for the 2027 Supreme Scratch in Buffalo New York will be a tropical beach/luau. Bring your tropical dress, leis, grass skirts, flip-flops, a flower for your hair or tropical shirts. Come prepared to meet new friends, reunite with old ones, laugh and enjoy the organized chaos!
I thank everyone for this opportunity to serve as Madam Big Flea. It has been an amazing journey from first joining the auxiliary and the fleas to getting to this point. As everyone who has held this position knows, it takes everyone working together from the smallest hide to national to make things come together. I am proud to be a flea and honored to hold the position of Madam Big Flea.
